5 Reasons You Should Be Watching Once Upon a Time
1-Disney EverythingFor those of you who aren’t “oncers”, the ABC series Once Upon a Time is about a magical world called the Enchanted Forest that was catapulted into our world in the form of Storybrooke. Episodes usually have a segment that highlights the characters’ past lives. Their past adds a piece to the puzzle about the characters and their overall connection to Storybrooke. The entire show is basically 10 or 15 different Disney/classic stories combined. Sometimes you’ll get a large dose of your favorite villains and then another day, you might see characters like Anna and Elsa from Frozen. One thing you can always count on is pretty much Disney everything
2-Updated Retellings of Classic Stories
Each classic story stays true to its origins while also adding some flare. Once Upon a Time takes the story of Peter Pan and gives it an almost scary twist. The entire show is based around a storybook that tells the story of their own world, Storybrooke. It’s a massive combination of classic stories thrown together into one intensely magical world. The best part about these updated retellings is that these stories are still fairly kid friendly and this show can be watched with your family.
3-Plot Twists At Every Turn
There’s never a dull moment in Storybrooke. Once Upon A Time will always leave you interested and maybe even a little confused. It’s definetly the kind of show you’ll want to immediately delve into and binge watch. There are generally at least three plot lines happening at once and by the end of the episode, they intertwine and everything comes together.
4-Strong Female Characters
Once Upon A Time is filled with strong female characters. They’ve taken classic characters like Snow White and given them a rough edge. The best part about this show is how independent these characters have become. A lot of classic stories tell of damsels in distress and Princesses who depend on their Prince for everything but Once Upon A Time is a different story. Characters like Snow White and Ruby (Little Red Riding Hood) depend on no one. They’re strong individuals that can take care of themselves and are the true heroes of almost every episode.
5-The Cast
The Once Upon A Time cast includes big names like Ginnifer Goodwine, Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas, Jared Gilmore, and Robert Carlyle. They make a great team and have brilliant on screen chemistry. One minute, you’ll completely love a character and the next minute you might despise them. The cast adds to the wonderful show in many impeccable ways.
